A few days before the New Year, on December 29, in the framework of the ArsHortus project, the ceremonial opening of the NOT-fir tree “Multipine” by Alexandra Weld Queen took place in the Botanical Garden of Moscow State University “Pharmaceutical Garden”. Together with the artist, a solemn speech in honor of the opening of this art object was delivered by the director of the pharmaceutical garden, Aleksey Reteyum.
“The MULTIPINE is a rare class of not-fir tree breed of the family of reinforcement-coniferous trees, breeded out by the artist in severe “climatic conditions” of the Post-Soviet subtaiga region. Due to the careful selective hybridization Multipine concentrated in itself all the necessary characteristics and inherited qualities of its New Year’s grandsire.
The new look represents the maximum saturation of the New Year holiday, the quintessence of the festive excesses, which are necessary for us as an outlet during the ruthless and endless Russian winter. We believe that at this time the holiday must be a lot, and the Multipine is a powerful response to the eternal shortage to receive the desirable. From now on, the holiday will be enough for everyone!”
