A sound public art, the result of Cashew’s art group work at the workshop led by Weld Queen and her team in 2020.
The art group “Cashew” was 16 talented apprentices-creators, who walked through the artist’s path from concept development to production, installation and opening of the art object for 1.5 months within the framework of the art-residency. The guys listened to the lectures on modern sculpture, they developed together the concept of the object, mastered the basics of welding and working with metal. The participants have got a unique complex experience in creating a high-quality public art object.
Each place has its own soul, which if you cannot see, then you can hear. Born among the sea and clouds, “Tam-Tam” has become the sound impersonation of landscape. The mirrored “heart” of the art-object scatters the sun’s glare during the day and shines like the moon at night. Each disc of the sculpture is made of stainless steel and has its own unique sound. “Tam-Tam” is the power of the place, its physical and sound embodiment. The play on it is like meditation, during which you can become one with the surrounding landscape.
